Skinners Lushingtons – new on today at The Fox Inn at Fox Corner.
Lushingtons from Skinners
A cool, hop-laden IPA
Straw-coloured and zesty, with strong citrus aromas, starting with a zip of lemon and lime in the mouth, and ending with a flash of passion fruit.
Bursting with fruit, within its bittersweet scent you’ll pick up lime and mangoes with a little lychee. And its creamy texture contains a slight strawberry finish.
ABV 4.2% – Vegan Friendly
Founded in 1997 by Steve Skinner, who after running successful Brewpubs in Jersey and finding a passion for making beer, decided to move from Jersey to Cornwall with his young family on the hunt for the perfect wave and community to raise his young children.
Determined to offer something slightly different to the other breweries in Cornwall, Skinner’s launched with three beers including, the infamous Betty Stogs and Cornish Knocker, which were at the time paler, modern and more hoppy, with the added touch of the characteristic fun Skinner’s style.
Over the years, Skinner’s won various awards whilst building an exceptional reputation up and down the UK for brewing premium cask ales.
With the help of duty changes in 2002, Skinner’s was able to move from its original smaller site on Neham Industrial Estate and invest in bigger, better brewing equipment and infrastructure, which is where we still call home today.
After many years of success Skinner’s was hit, like most of the hospitality sector by Covid, which led to its regrettable demise in 2022.
Fortunately, all was not lost, and the owners of Goodh Brew Co, decided to revive the old Cornish giant.
Now proudly owned by a young local Cornish family, Skinner’s will remain as an independent traditional Cornish brewery delivering those iconic ales, we all know and love.
