Goldmark Liquid Gold

Goldmark Liquid Gold is a golden ale crafted by the Sussex Micro Brewery. With an ABV of 4.0%, this session ale offers a delightful blend of fruity and citrus flavors. The beer is dry-hopped with Mosaic and Centennial hops, resulting in a refreshing and balanced taste.

The story behind Liquid Gold is equally intriguing. The brewer, dissatisfied with changes made to a beloved Sussex ale, decided to take matters into their own hands. They aimed to create a proper session beer that would be versatile enough to pair with various types of food or enjoyed on its own. Drawing inspiration from an old recipe called “Fools Gold,” they incorporated a new hop variety from America to enhance the brew.

In 2012, when the brewer was still operating out of their garage, a friend requested a cask of Liquid Gold for the Worthing Beer Festival. To their surprise, the beer sold out before anything else. Encouraged by the positive response, the brewer decided to take the leap and start their own brewery.

The 2020 version of Liquid Gold has evolved further. Now, the beer undergoes dry hopping with a blend of Mosaic, Centennial, and Comet hops at the end of fermentation.
