Best Bitter

Inspiration

What beer lover doesn’t enjoy a warming best bitter packed full of British malty goodness. Interestingly topped off with those distinct English floral hop notes. This beer descended from By The Horns past brewed ‘Panowow’ best bitter. Recently, they have progressed the recipe to give a bit more mouthfeel, body & malty-ness to the beer.
The London-Surrey Classic is the name for the famous cycle ride that starts in London. It rides through Surrey (Box hill area, which is very close to their Salfords brewery site) and finishes back in London. A name which very much represents their brewery history.

Expect

A bold rounded malty mouthfeel with layers of caramel and lightly roasted malts, topped off with distinct fresh floral English hops.

Your classic Sunday roast chicken

Malt

Extra Pale Malted Barley, Flaked Barley, Munich, Dextrin, Brown, Cara, Pale Chocolate, & Amber malt.

The By The Horns Brewery Story

Interestingly, By The Horns Brewing Co. was launched in 2011 due to the lack of beer choice on offer in pubs, off-licenses & bars in the UK.

Alex Bull & Chris Mills, the two founders, wanted to tear away from their corporate jobs and give themselves the freedom to do what they enjoyed most…brew beer.

The UK brewing landscape in 2011 was very different to what it is today. There was absolutely no blueprint for what they wanted to do.

In forming By The Horns Brewing Co. their vision was to brew approachable beers but bring taste, choice and flavour to the forefront.
