Interestingly, Hogs Back Tongham Tea is their top selling, award winning, best bitter. Of mote, TEA is small-batch brewed with finest English malted barley, Surrey-grown classic bittering hop, Fuggles and water drawn from the chalk aquifers under the Hogs Back ridge. It’s a classic traditional ale – a malt forward taste with the hops providing balance. Consequently, a lingering malt sweetness leads to a long, satisfying finish. Best with rich, full flavored meat and cheese dishes. “Tea” is now known as “Tongham Tea” after it’s source location.

The Brewery is a small family-owned brewery with big plans to make their beer genuinely local and their brewing more sustainable.
Moreover, they opened their doors on Manor Farm in 1992 and feel part of the landscape in Tongham. However, that doesn’t stop them thinking differently.
That’s because they believe beer is best brewed locally. As a result, it’s better for their consumers, the local community and the environment.
Generally, great beer comes from a combination of passion, expertise and the best ingredients. Consequently, in 1994 they decided to grow their own hops. It’s been a steep learning curve but they nurture, harvest, dry and pack their hops there on the farm.
