MARSTON’S BACKSTORY
Marstons started brewing in Burton-upon-Trent in 1834. Then, in 1898 they got itchy feet and moved down the road to the Albion Brewery. They’ve not moved since!
They came to Burton for the water. Well, for the rocks the town was built on to be precise. The water trickles down through a thick layer of gypsum before they bring it back up again from their well. That is what gives Marston’s beers the depth of flavour, character and crisp refreshing bitterness tha cannot be found anywhere else in the World.
“Scotland has Whisky, Detroit has cars and Burton has beer!”
Marstons is the oldest brewery in town.
